I know I haven't been posting business stuff on the blog lately but I just ordered Angelo's Valentine's Day cards for him to give to his preschool friends and, since I don't think the under 5 set frequent my blog, I think it's probably okay for me to share here.
A note to my clients: Valentine's cards can be ordered up until the end of the month. Any clients from last year who would like to order Valentine's cards with one of your session images, email me for info.

Aren't they cute? They're little flat 2.5"x3" double-sided cards. We're going to tape a lollipop to the yellow polka-dotted side with some washi tape and Angelo can write each of his classmate's names on the back.
And while we were taking the photograph to use for his Valentine's day card, I think I took two of my favourite photographs ever of my two amazing little people.

I am blessed to be friends with some pretty amazing photographers. A few weeks ago, 19 of us, including our fearless mentor, joined together to each photograph a month of mornings. One photo from each of us, taken before 10AM, every day for the month of October.

I've never done very well with daily photo projects. I'm notorious for starting and then petering out after day 3. Not this time. I'm loving the challenge of finding a new way to photograph the littles before 10AM each day, especially since we don't get much real light until after 9AM.
You can view all the photos from my Month of Mornings project here and follow along until the end of the month.

I've had a few requests for another set of mini-sessions for those who missed out the first time around. If you're interested and want more info, please email me at jenn@jenndispirito.com.
And because no post is complete without a photo... this is me being a mean mama and rushing him through his pancakes because the fog outside was too cool not to photograph in.

He squints quite often which is what makes me love the one on the right so much. He doesn't have problems seeing but he does seem to be quite sensitive to light. My sister and I are both the same way but is it normal in kids too? I forgot to ask when we were getting his eyes checked.

A number of months ago, I was privileged to be asked to be a photographer for The Tiny Light Foundation.

The Tiny Light Foundation is dedicated to providing professional photography services for children and families who have been affected by life-altering diagnoses. I can't think of anything better than giving families whose lives are full of doctors appointments, hospital visits and I imagine a lot of worry, photographs of how special their family really is.
Little Maxxwell and his parents are one of those families I had the pleasure to meet through the Tiny Light Foundation.

He took a little while to warm up to me but half way through our session I was getting some of his beautiful smiles and he was grabbing my finger and putting it in his book to get me to read with him. My kids loves the Wiggles but his joy at hearing them reached a whole new level - good thing I'm well-versed in Big Red Car and Hot Potato.
And of course we had to sneak in a bit of time for mom and dad alone at the end of the session. Max was happy to keep me company and give his parents a bit of time together.
If you are a family affected by a life altering diagnosis, I encourage you to apply to have your family professionally photographed.
